Hyundai Ioniq 5 collected a total of 63 points and won clearly by 21 points. Hyundai i20 took third place in with 39 points.

For the first time, the electric car won the Estonian Car of the Year title last year, when Porsche Taycan took the win. In the 2022 awards, the top two cars were both electric, with Škoda Enyaq earning the second highest number of points.

Hyundai won the Estonian Car of the Year competition for the first time. The last time the brand noticed success in 2012, when Hyundai was second in the competition. In the 22-year history of the Estonian Car of the Year competition, 13 different car brands have won the title.

The Car of the Year in Estonia is chosen by a jury of car journalists. The competition is organized by the Estonian ”Tehnikamaailma“ media and is supported by Shell Helix and Alexela. Over 30 news models had arrived in Estonia in the last 12 months, from which the jury members selected the six finalists.

At the end of November, Hyundai also succeeded in the Lithuanian Car of the Year competition. The Ioniq 5 won the Best Electric Car, Best Innovation and Best Design awards. The Best Family Car award went to Hyundai Santa Fe. Hyundai's Ioniq 5, i20, Bayon, Tucson and Santa Fe are participating in the Latvian Car of the Year start competition. The winner will be revealed at the end of January. In Finland, Ioniq 5 is also one of the six finalists in the Car of the Year competition, the winner will be announced on 16 December 2022.
