Vaimo launches a SaaS-based GS1 connector

Stockholm, Sweden, February 29, 2024 – Vaimo, an Akeneo Diamond Solution Partner, now offers the Akeneo community a direct way to plug into the GDSN network and send and receive information from other GS1 members. The GS1 connector is built on Vaimo’s Connectmach microservice framework and offers increased efficiency at a low cost.

The origins of the GS1 standard go back to the 1950s when the grocery industry in the United States faced challenges in managing inventory and conducting efficient transactions. GS1 is heavily associated with the barcodes that play a key role in supply chains, enabling parties like retailers, manufacturers, transport providers, and hospitals to automatically identify and track products as they move through the supply chain.

Today, GS1 operates in over 100 countries, with millions of member companies across various industries. Its standards connect buyers and sellers, enabling seamless communication and collaboration among trading partners worldwide.
