Bredbandsbolaget and Glocalnet form strategic co-operation: First with Telephony at Flat Rate Stockholm, Sweden-December 28, 1999 - Glocalnet and Bredbandsbolaget have teamed together to offer telephony services of the future to customers of Bredbandsbolaget. Starting from the beginning of next year, a test group of customers from Bredbandsbolaget will be offered the possibility of becoming equal access customers at Glocalnet. This means that they will be able to place an unlimited number of calls within Sweden for a flat rate of only SEK 149 per month. "Together with Bredbandsbolaget, we will offer simple, modern communication at a competitive price. The whole telecom industry has been talking about flat rate. Bredbandsbolaget and Glocalnet are now doing something about it together. We make it even easier for customers to take control of their costs", says Stefan Krook, CEO of Glocalnet. This offer is the first step in the strategic co-operation. The goal of Glocalnet and Bredbandsbolaget is to offer their joint customers a new telephony subscription totally via the broadband network, so-called IP- telephony. These customers will no longer need a subscription at Telia. "Glocalnet is the operator in Sweden that today already bases their service platform for telephony totally on the new IP technology. This complements Bredbandsbolaget's range of services extremely well", emphasizes Peter Ekelund, CEO of Bredbandsbolaget. "Through Bredbandsbolaget's extensive expansion of an IP-based access net, new types of services will be able to be supplied to households.
