Edgewater, NJ—March 13, 2012: Fashion innovation in women’s underwear is a tradition in the Glogover family. Stanley Glogover, (whose parents once ran a clothing store in Poland), invented the maternity and nursing bra for new mothers during a successful career in the garment business.

Now his daughter, hosiery entrepreneur, Bonnie Glogover, has a growing business promoting the sales of her versatile pantyhose called Convertibles; the first ever performance hosiery with a unique solution: a seamless toe flap. Bonnie’s design developed in collaboration with her father, offers women three new options in wearing hosiery: as a closed or open toe, or at ankle-high length.

Thanks to the patented technology, there is no bothersome toe seam anymore. The invisible seam is now located on the side of the toe flap. The open toe converts from closed by flipping the flap up and back under the foot, and allows for a sandal-toe look when women want to wear pantyhose. The ankle-high style means the wearer can enjoy hassle free pedicures, podiatry visits, carefree dancing, or simply delight in being barefoot.

The inspiration for Convertibles surfaced after Bonnie found toe seams in hosiery uncomfortable and had observed women at nail salons cutting open their hosiery at the ankle prior to a pedicure.

As a result, she consulted Stanley about adding the toe flap, who immediately saw the wisdom in her idea. “I explained the concept to my father, and he engineered and tested several prototypes by taking scissors to the feet of my mother’s pantyhose,” Bonnie said. “Today, we often joke about how he once dressed the “upstairs” with his bra designs and now I get to dress the “downstairs!”

The father and daughter collaboration is a burgeoning success story. Convertibles are now on sale at branches of Duane Reade in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Bronx, Long Island and the Metro North area. The hose retails for $9.99 a pair.

Convertibles are manufactured by Bossong Hosiery Mill in Asheboro, NC, and come with a shape-enhancing control top panty, hygienic cotton gusset and a soft waistband for a comfortable fit. The fabric’s quality sheer composition is 20 Denier; 89% nylon and 11% LYCRA Spandex for graduated compression to ease leg fatigue. The line consists of four sizes: A (starting at 4’10”/90 lbs) to D (through 6’0”/230 lbs)]; and comes in two shades [black and nude].

Convertibles and information on their special features are available on Bonnie’s website: www.glogoverhosiery.com. More store locations and worldwide retailers to be announced in the near future.
