May 2, 2013- Cherry Hill, NJ: Baseball player Nate Mulberg from the University of Rochester organized all teams within the Liberty League to Lace-Up this weekend May 3rd, in honor of not only a good friend that lost his battle to cancer in 2007, but also to honor a fellow player within the league that is currently battling cancer.

“Pediatric cancer kills more children than asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and pediatric AIDS combined. I'm so happy the Liberty League baseball teams are "Lacing-Up" to help Go4theGoal in its efforts to defeat childhood cancer. Pediatric cancer has directly impacted my life because in 2007, my childhood friend Richard Stefanacci passed away from Ewing's Sarcoma when he was 14. The Go4theGoal Foundation was created in Richard's memory. I am beyond thankful that my Liberty League baseball family is willing to support a cause so important to me,” Nate Mulberg, University of Rochester student, baseball player and supporter of Go4theGoal.

“Our GOAL for 2013 is to get 1 million athletes Laced Up to help create the awareness and support needed for pediatric cancer patients across the country.  Reaching this goal will help further our mission in making a difference in the lives of kids battling cancer and providing funding for the number one killer by disease of our children.  With the Liberty League lacing up this weekend we are moving closer, yet still a distance away, from this goal!” says Beth Stefanacci, Founding Director of Go4theGoal
