GO4THEGOAL FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES PECO CROWN LIGHTS WILL RUN ITS NATIONAL DRESS 4 PEDIATRIC CANCER DAY MESSAGE IN SEPTEMBER
9/27 One Day, One Dollar, One Goal…Curing Pediatric Cancer
AUGUST 22, 2012– Merchantville, NJ: Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is September and Go4theGoal Pediatric Cancer Foundation has found yet another creative way to help raise awareness for children who are battling cancer.
On September 4-6 and 22-24, the scrolling marquee atop PECO’s Main Office Building in Philadelphia – also known as the PECO Crown Lights – will scroll Go4theGoal’s National Dress 4 Pediatric Cancer Day message, “One Day, One Dollar, One Goal…Curing Pediatric Cancer” in recognition of its September 27thNational Dress 4 Pediatric Cancer Day (ND4PCD).
On September 27th, schools, businesses and organizations across the country will join Go4theGoal’s effort to raise much needed awareness and financial support for pediatric cancer patients, their families, pediatric oncology units and research by taking part in National Dress 4 Pediatric Cancer Day.
“The concept is a simple one,” says Beth Stefanacci, Go4theGoal’s Executive Director, “on September 27th, each participant will donate $1.00 to ‘dress’ in their own way to unite with their classmates, friends, family or coworkers to show their support for children affected by cancer.” The funds raised will be used to support pediatric cancer patients and their families within the communities where they are raised.
The scrolling marquis will reach tens of thousands of people during its six-day run. “Our goal is to raise $100,000 on September 27th, and having our message atop the PECO Building will help broadcast ND4PCD to a very large audience,” added Stefanacci. “We are grateful to PECO for this opportunity.”
