To celebrate Godminster’s 10th anniversary a limited edition, traditional farmhouse cheddar has been made, using milk from the Godminster Farm at Bruton in Somerset, in partnership with Green’s of Glastonbury.

Made in March 2010, the handmade traditional vintage cheddar truckles, which weigh two kilos each, are un-waxed, hand-wrapped in cheesecloth and packaged in an earthy, brown gift box which reflects the organic milk which is at the heart of the cheddar. Using artisan skills, the limited edition Godminster Cheddars were matured on racks for nine months and the characteristics are rich, full-bodied and long on the finish with a nutty and savoury bite.

Commenting on the Limited Edition Cheddar, Godminster’s owner Richard Hollingbery said; “We decided to celebrate Godminster’s 10thanniversary by making a limited edition cheese which, whilst different to our waxed cheeses, complements our Godminster range.  The Cheddar, made by Somerset cheese-makers, Green’s of Glastonbury, is delicious and I’m sure I can detect a hint of the flavour of Godminster Farm milk on the flavour profile”.

Godminster, is known for its award-winning range of Vintage Organic Cheddar, made from a unique 70 year old recipe, which is instantly recognisable by its distinctive purple wax coating and beautiful heart and round shapes.

Green’s of Glastonbury has been making cheese in the small village of West Pennard which is at the foot of Glastonbury Tor, in the Somerset levels.  Renowned for producing top quality farmhouse cheddar, Green’s of Glastonbury is a fourth generation cheese making farm.

The organic Limited Edition Cheddar is available from www.godminster.com at £45.00 inc postage and packing.
