WASHINGTON, July 19, 2012 – On July 26 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm ET, Gorman Health Group hosts the first installment of a four-part educational webinar series focused on the implications of the Federal Facilitated Exchange (FFE) for health plan executives.

John Gorman, Founder and Chairman of Gorman Health Group, hosts the series and will lead panel discussions with GHG policy, financial, and product development experts, as well as industry leaders in risk adjustment and distribution.  “The FFE is a major player in the implementation of health reform, and health plan executive teams have an opportunity to take the lessons learned from their Medicare Advantage and Part D lines of business, and apply them to the highly regulated Exchange market,” said Mr. Gorman.

The hour-long webcast on July 26 focuses specifically on risk adjustment in the Exchanges.  The defining financial issue for Medicare Advantage will now have huge implications for commercial plans when participating in the Exchanges.  John Gorman is joined on July 26 by Dr. Jack McCallum, CEO of CenseoHealth and one of the Medicare Advantage industry’s risk adjustment pioneers.  “When done well, risk adjustment in Medicare Advantage can provide vital information for care management and directly impact member engagement and satisfaction,” said Dr. McCallum.  “Done incorrectly, risk adjustment is a huge compliance and financial risk to plans.”

This webinar series is complimentary for health plan executives and upcoming installments will focus on product distribution in and around the Exchanges, the nuts and bolts of the Exchanges themselves, and product strategy in the Exchanges.  Health plan executives should visit http://www.gormanhealthgroup.com for more information and to register to attend.

The FFE marks just one aspect of the paradigm shift facing health plans – business models must proactively approach member management to ensure long-term survival.  Gorman Health Group will continue to support health plans in this effort with “The Point” - a new information-distribution platform set to debut this Fall.  “We have heard for years from our clients that they are in a state of information overload,” said Nathan Goldstein, Chief Executive Officer of Gorman Health Group. “Between regulatory updates, industry shifts and developments in best practices, it’s been too much to keep track of--- let alone make sense of and implement.  “The Point” will collect and summarize regulations, provide extended analysis of timely topics, give members priority access to GHG webinars and discounted attendance at our industry Forums.”
