New leading expertise to Gradientech’s Scientific Advisory Board
The diagnostics company Gradientech announces today that Elisabet Nielsen, Senior Lecturer and Assoc. Professor in Clinical Pharmacy at Uppsala University, Sweden, joins as new member of the company's prominent international Scientific Advisory Board.
Elisabet conducts world leading research within translational and personalized medicine. She holds special expertise in mathematical models to understand the dynamic interaction between bacteria, antibiotics and the patient and its meaning for optimized antibiotic use.
“It´s very exciting to welcome Elisabet Nielsen. Her world-leading research within pharmacometrics, to better understand and translate how patients shall be able to get individualised antibiotic dosing for optimal treatment, will be valuable for us and the development of our QuickMIC system with its unique benefits within precision medicine,” says Sara Thorslund, CEO of Gradientech.
The goal is for the QuickMIC system to become the fastest on the market for growth-based testing of antibiotic resistance in sepsis patients. Clinical studies are currently underway to enable the launch of the QuickMIC system for diagnostic use first in Europe, then in the USA.
“I´m excited to be part of the next-generation diagnostics and to contribute to the understanding and use of precise MIC values. Personalized medicine is an emerging field and anything we can do to help speed up future treatment strategies will have a great impact for the patient and clinician in charge”, says Elisabet Nielsen, new member of the SAB at Gradientech.
