Land and Environmental Court grants authorisation for the restart of the Dannemora mine
GRANGEX is pleased to announce that today the Land and Environmental Court in Nacka (Mark- och Miljödomstolen i Nack) has issued a judgement. The Land and Environmental Court approves the environmental impact assessment, completes the environmental assessment and grants Dannemora Iron AB a permit for mining operations etc. and water operations at the Dannemora mine in Östhammar municipality according to Chapters 9 and 11 of the Environmental Code.
"This is a historic day for the Dannemora mine and of course GRANGEX. The fact that in less than a year from the time we submitted our application to the Land and Environmental Court, we received a positive judgement shows that we have done good preparatory work and a good permit process.
Now the way is open to complete the financing of the plant project and continue the procurement and preparations for the start of construction in the autumn with a planned start of production in 2025. We will then be the first producer of green iron ore concentrate as a raw material for the production of fossil-free steel." says Christer Lindqvist, CEO of GRANGEX.
