Greenfoods food tech company and salad bar operator Picadeli is opening a new restaurant in the gastronomy capital of Paris. The venture is another step in Picadeli’s growth journey in Europe, and a way to hone its offer to both stores and consumers.
“The new restaurant concept provides us with an important platform from which to further accelerate the development of our own technical solutions, as well as try out new products,” says David von Laskowski, CEO of Greenfood and Picadeli.

The Swedish food group Greenfood has achieved great success with its food-tech company Picadeli, which operates digital salad bars in 440 locations in France and 2,300 locations in Europe. Picadeli has also been awarded the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in France’s annual Prix d’Excellence company award for its rapid and successful expansion on the French market, and for its clever use of technology to minimise food waste.

The Group is now preparing for the next step, namely the opening of a flagship restaurant in Paris. The new restaurant has been designed for diners on-the-go as well as for those who want to sit down and enjoy their food. The restaurant is located in Dôme de la Défense in Westfield Les 4 Temps, one of the most popular shopping centres in Paris, with over 42 million visitors each year.

“Our food concept has been extremely well received in France, especially in Paris. So while competition within food is tough, we can see an opportunity to create an important shop window to show that fast food can be healthy, climate-smart and plant-based. The restaurant enables us to reach a new target group and at the same time try out new ideas and products that we can then incorporate into our salad bar business,” says David von Laskowski, CEO of Picadeli.

The concept has a clear climate focus, with a range that largely comprises plant-based proteins and seasonal flavours. In addition, all packaging consists of compostable or recycled, renewable material.
