For 12 years Bertil Sjösvärd has dreamed of bringing this project to life. By launching a Kickstarter campaign Bertil hopes to take on the world with his groundbreaking innovation.

WHAT IS GRIPFORCE?

Gripforce is a dual-purpose boot that is as safe to wear on glistening ice as it is on hardwood floor. With a convertible sole and retractable studs, the patented Gripforce technology can transform a boot into an ice cleat in less than a second, simply, with the flip of a switch. This advanced functionality is disguised on the inside of the sole, creating a discreet boot tailored for every, and any, occasion. A Nordic innovation, engineered from our unwavering expertise of extreme weather conditions. 

HOW DOES IT WORK?

When you turn the knob on the side of the sole the regular boot transforms, and the cleat-system is activated. The activation allows the cleats to emerge and push down into the ground using the weight of your body. The sole, therefore, never looses contact with the ground. Instead, the spikes penetrate the ground you are walking on just enough for you to get the traction required by the underlying material. This intelligent and automated system enables you to use the boots on all types of surface materials, always getting the perfect grip.

PATENTED TECHNOLOGY! 

Many have tried to achieve what the Gripforce technology does, but in more complicated ways. Gripforce’s world-patented technology enables the spikes to protrude from the sole in on-mode, pushed down by the weight of the user's body. In off-mode, however, the spikes stay inside the sole. This is possible due to the outsole being either flexible (in on-mode), or rigid (in off-mode). Two worldwide patents protect the technology embedded within the sole, the first relating to exploiting the user’s bodyweight to force the spikes to emerge, and the second relating to the transformative state of the sole.

BERTIL’S STORY

For 16 years I was the CEO of a Swedish company that produces and markets footwear and clothing. Last summer I decided to leave the security of a steady employment to devote myself fully to realizing this dream. What once started with an inability to get up an icy hill in the Alps and a rough idea sketch on a napkin, is finally ready to be brought to market. I have worked extensively with several different engineers to perfect the Gripforce technology, and put a lot of my earnings and even more of my time, into development. After 12 years, and seven generations of prototypes, we are finally ready to take on the world.
