£15,000 worth of free parts and repairs for GSF competition winners

The lucky winners entered GSF Car Parts 'Get Your Motor Running' competition, which asked motorists to give reasons why they deserve to win £1,000's worth of car parts, servicing and MOT repairs in association with GSF stores in Leicester, Leamington and Banbury.

Production Officer, 24-year-old Toni Ward of Anstey, Leicester entered the ‘Get Your Motor Running’ competition in the hope that a growing list of faults on her Volkswagen Golf GTI would be fixed. Her car is essential to continue to drive her mother, who suffers from cluster headaches, to and from central London for specialist treatment.

Miss Ward said: “She has to go to the neurosurgeon in London and we need my car to be reliable, we can’t miss any appointments, so it really is essential.”

Commenting on fixing the car, Leicester-based, The Lion Garage Director, Martin Coles said: "We did loads of work on the Golf, we gave it an MOT, serviced it, put a new clutch in, new brakes and wheel bearings. We basically fixed anything that the owner wanted us to.

"It was highly unusual as we were asked to carry out a lot of work, all of which was funded for by GSF. The owner was very chuffed and I was really pleased that such a lovely owner won - it was a nice car too."

Entrants uploaded everything from song lyrics and poems to video animations, of which 17 were selected for the prize draw.

MOT tester at STL Service Centre, Mark said: "The winners were over the moon. We carried out a full service and MOT, there were a few fails but GSF even paid for those to be put right."
