The Northampton branch of GSF Car Parts has raised over £500 for MacMillan Cancer Support after staff members joined people all over the country for the 'World’s Biggest Coffee Morning'.

The staff baked and decorated a huge selection of cakes and cookies, which were sold to GSF customers and to colleagues at neighbouring GSF branches.

Northampton Branch Manager, Glynn Roy said “It’s a charity that I hold very close to my heart.

“My mum’s suffering with lung cancer and is being treated by the MacMillan nurses.

“Seeing first-hand the hard work that they put in on a daily basis spurred me on to help raise as much money as possible for the charity.”

GSF delivery drivers took on an extra load during the event as they couriered the home-made creations to garages receiving their deliveries.

Neighbouring branches at Bedford, Kettering, Milton Keynes, Daventry and Banbury also bought some of the cakes and donated money to the cause.

“It was a team effort, the whole branch got involved,” Glynn explained.

“I’d like to thank everyone for their efforts, donations and hard work. Together we managed to raise a massive £533 for a really good cause.”

The event, which was supported by people from across the UK, took place on September 25 and has so far raised a total of £2,900,000.
