GSF Car Parts launch ‘multi-fleet’ 5W30 oils
National motor factor GSF Car Parts has launched two new Vetech multi-fleet engine oils. The standard service life (5W30 SSL Pro) and extended service life (5W30 ESL Pro) oils are available now from the UK branch network.
The new 5W30 ESL Pro High Performance Multi-Fleet Extended Service oil is an advanced super multi-grade engine oil providing substantial protection and outstanding performance in the most up to date multi-valve engines.
The oil is built from 100% synthetic PURITY TM VHVI base oils, derived from the patented HT process, which produces 99.9% pure synthetic base oils. In combination with leading-edge additive technology, it delivers long-life performance with exceptional resistance to thermal breakdown, engine wear and deposit formulation, even under the most severe driving conditions.
It’s cost effective in use too, offering reduced oil consumption through low evaporation loss. Combined with enhanced seal compatibility to prevent leaks, this means fewer oil top ups for motorists.
The new 5W30 SSL Pro Universal Performance Multi-Fleet Standard Service oil is a super multi-grade low sulphur and phosphorous oil that offers low friction with universal performance. It’s formulated to provide optimum performance and improved fuel economy, leading to reduced CO2 emissions, whilst also delivering a high level of protection and lubrication.
Vetech SSL Pro Universal Performance Multi-Fleet engine oil is primarily designed for use where an up-to-date light viscosity multi grade oil is recommended by engine manufacturers to meet their performance requirements.
Both oils are suitable for use with LPG and E85 bio fuels. They are also compatible with a wide range of current vehicle manufacturer specifications including low saps.
The benefit to garages of these multi-fleet oils is in stocking fewer variations of 5W30. In a recent survey, GSF found over 90% of independent garages listed 5W30 as the grade they ‘use the most’. Around a third of garages stock more than five types of oil, with almost two thirds keeping over £500 of oil in stock.
“In simple terms, the advanced levels of compatibility are achieved through the combination of very high quality base stocks with a comprehensive leading-edge additive pack, inhibitors and boosters,” said John Wright, Head of Garage Equipment and Customer Development. “Garages can be confident the 5W30 ESL and SSL Pro grades offer outstanding performance levels.”
Some garages have simply turned to ordering for each job – typically a much more expensive route that adds to workload - with one saying: “It’s the different specifications required by each make, model and engine type. There are so many blends, with different additives, that we don’t stock any oil now.”
Overall, 82% said they could see benefits in keeping fewer types of oil, with a significant majority reporting that vehicle manufacturer guidelines on which oils to use had become ‘more confusing’ in recent years.
“The new Vetech multi-fuel oil gives the potential for garages to simplify their 5W30 stocks,” concluded John.
