GSF Car Parts LED the way on signage upgrade

GSF Car Parts have just installed new illuminated LED signage systems at their midlands head office and distribution centre, boosting kerb appeal.

The UK’s largest privately owned motor factor operates from Units 21 to 30 on Birmingham’s The Fort industrial park. This thriving hub of warehousing units and offices is located at the heart of the motorway network, and supports a 75-strong nationwide network of branches.

The signage project, which was completed in just a single day to minimise disruption, saw tube-based fluorescent systems upgraded with state-of-the-art LED technology.

“The new signage reflects our latest corporate image and logos,” said Amanda O’Reilly, Head of Marketing at GSF Car Parts. “The upgrade to LED lighting technology creates far greater visual impact, whilst also being much more energy efficient.”

The move from fluorescent tube and gear tray lighting to LED required a significant five figure capital investment but will cut running costs dramatically. Besides higher power consumption, the old style systems required regular tube replacements. The height of the signage meant even simple maintenance tasks required arranging ‘cherry picker’ access equipment.

GSF say the upgrade is part of wider rolling refurbishment to the branch network which has recently seen Leicester signage go LED too.
