GSF Car Parts provides motorists with useful ‘How To’ tutorials

GSF Car Parts hope simple new ‘How To’ YouTube tutorials can encourage British motorists to keep on top of some basic vehicle maintenance tasks.

The national motor factor believes enabling car owners to get better acquainted with their vehicles will help not only in saving motorists money but can also contribute to improved road safety.

Checking the condition of your tyres is of paramount importance. GSF’s brief video shows how drivers can familiarize themselves with the location of their tread wear indicators, to establish whether the tread depth is below the legal limit. Bulges, scuffs and tears to the inside and outside rim can be checked too, as this general wear and tear can have potentially devastating consequences if not regularly monitored.

Knowing how to handle essential fluid checks in between services will prevent problems that can arise from running too low on engine oil, for example. GSF’s informative video shows viewers how to check the engine oil dipstick, and where to top up power steering fluid, coolant and windscreen wash.

Smaller motoring niggles are addressed too, with GSF providing less confident vehicle owners useful advice on how to fit new wiper blades. Detailing how to unlock the wiper fitment and remove the old blade in order to replace it with a new one should give even the most reluctant of motorists all the help they need to keep their windscreens clean!

Amanda O’Reilly Head of Marketing at GSF said: “Lots of people like to maintain their vehicles. These ‘How To’ guides take into account the varying degrees of knowledge, encouraging even those who have never tried to change a wiper blade before to give it a go.”
