GSF toast South West success in sunshine

GSF Car Parts continued their Area Focus programme with an eventful South West programme of activities, culminating with a ‘glamping’ trip enjoyed in summer sunshine.

Five branches worked alongside a head office team during June to take the message out to garages. The Garage Essentials team reported an ‘exceptional’ response from the local trade to an offer on the Launch X431 GDS, as Omega and Laser Tools toured the area too demonstrating new products from their tool vans.

Mid-June saw GSF team members from the five branches gain product awareness training, thanks to informative presentations from key suppliers including Elstock, Banner Batteries and Sogefi. The evening was attended by more than 30 staff, in the award-winning conference facilities of Exeter Rugby Club’s Sandy Park Stadium.

The main event this time around was a camping trip, held near Ashprington and Tuckenhay, close to the coast in the South-West corner of Devon. GSF Car Parts staff united to defy warm temperatures, starting at 9am with setting up 20 canvas bell tents, complete with air beds, quilts, pillows and guest goody bags before the afternoon arrival of guests.

By 3pm the party was in full swing on the beach with no less than three gazebos housing barbeque, bar and even a steel band.

“We set out to create a really memorable experience for our garage guests,” said GSF Car Parts Managing Director Jonny West. “The team really pulled the stops out in creating the ‘glamping’ experience to be proud of and our customers were delighted.”

During the afternoon four 12 person canoes were used to travel from Tuckenhay’s famous riverside pub, The Maltster’s Arms down to the estuary to join the beach-side fun.
