GuideStar Exchange Seal Holders Can Now Display Transparency Seal on Their Own Websites

GuideStar Exchange Seal Widget Gives Nonprofits the Ability to Share Their Full Stories with Current and Potential Supporters

Washington, DC – December 8, 2011 GuideStar – the leading source of nonprofit information – announced today that members of its GuideStar Exchange initiative will be able to share their commitment to transparency with current and potential donors by displaying the GuideStar Exchange Seal on their own websites.

“GuideStar Exchange members believe in providing the public with comprehensive information, and posting the Seal on their websites will let donors click directly to their organizations’ GuideStar profiles,” said José Fernández, GuideStar Exchange director. “We encourage all nonprofits to tell showcase their accomplishments and connect with donors who care about their missions through our free GuideStar Exchange program.”

The GuideStar Exchange is a free initiative designed to connect nonprofits with current and potential supporters by sharing a wealth of up-to-date information with GuideStar's vast on-line audience of grantmakers and individual donors. Exchange members are nonprofits that have completed a number of fields to update their nonprofit reports to the fullest—sharing information, documentation, photos, and video with GuideStar's visitors.

Nonprofits that have completed all required fields and received a GuideStar Exchange Seal can download a widget that will allow them to display the Seal on their websites.

Organizations that have received the GuideStar Exchange Seal should follow the steps below to download the widget:

  1. Log in at www.guidestar.org.
  2. Click the Update Nonprofit Report button.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the Update Nonprofit Report page and click the Benefits link for listed for the organization.
  4. Click the Get the GuideStar Exchange Seal Widget link.
  5. Follow the instructions on the GuideStar Seal Widget page.
