GuideStar Experts Chat with Small Groups to Identify and Solve Problems

Washington, DC—August 10, 2011—GuideStar, the leading source of nonprofit information, yesterday launched a series of free “Lunch & Learns” aimed at helping the many audiences it serves – including nonprofits, advisors to the nonprofit community, grantmakers, foundations, and philanthropic donors – better use GuideStar’s many products and services. Yesterday’s meeting, titled “What’s the Difference? The Free GuideStar Experience vs. the GuideStar Premium Experience,” focused on information you can access on GuideStar.org as a registered user as opposed to a paid GuideStar Premium subscriber.

“We know our users often have questions about what they can do on GuideStar and how our products can help them achieve their goals,” said Suzanne Coffman, GuideStar’s editorial director and one of the Lunch & Learns hosts. “Sometimes, it’s easier just to show something, rather than try to explain it with text and images on a Web page. We’re focusing these sessions on larger topics important to specific groups of people in the hopes that we can help different audiences get the most out of their GuideStar experience.”

GuideStar Lunch & Learns consist of a 15- to 20-minute product or service demonstration provided by a GuideStar expert, followed by a 10-minute unscripted question-and-answer period. As space for each session is limited to 70 people, GuideStar encourages all interested parties to register for the Lunch & Learns by visiting its webinar page: http://www2.guidestar.org/rxg/news/webinars/guidestar-lunch-n-learns.aspx.
