GuideStar’s Incoming President and CEO Jacob Harold to Speak at the White House Forum on Philanthropy Innovation

Washington, D.C.—September 18, 2012GuideStar—the leading source of nonprofit information—today announced that incoming president and CEO Jacob Harold is among the guest speakers of the upcoming White House Forum on Philanthropy Innovation on September 20, 2012, to talk about how stronger information systems can support financial innovation in the nonprofits sector. The main goal of the forum is to draw connections between the guest speakers and audience members, share insights into how federal policy has or could further support philanthropic innovation, and explore the relationship between philanthropic innovation and economic opportunity.

“What an honor to get to speak at the White House,” said Jacob Harold. “At GuideStar we know that innovators inside and outside of the government need access to high-quality information to build a stronger, more effective nonprofit marketplace. I’m going to share some ideas on just how we can do that.”

Harold joins top leaders in the nonprofit sector discussing key issues such as the role of technology and data and venture philanthropy and impact investing. The forum will be opened by Jonathan Greenblatt, special assistant to the president and director, White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation. Cecilia Muñoz, assistant to the president and director, White House Domestic Policy Council, will be providing the Obama Administration’s perspective on philanthropy innovation.
