Gunnebo Industrier AB is investing some MSEK 8 in a new forging machine at its plant in Gemla near Växjö, which is under the Business Area Lifting. There will be an official inauguration at 1.00 pm on Friday 9 September 2005, as well as a demonstration of the new forging machine.

The new machine represents the next phase in the company’s strategy of developing its in-house production of forging. Gunnebo Industrier already produces forging at its Norwegian company, Gunnebo Anja Industrier A/S, as well as at the Gemla plant. The new 5-tonne forging machine, which will replace an existing 4-tonne forging machine, will raise production capacity and improve efficiency. “The new forging machine will serve as the basis for Gunnebo Industrier’s production of heavy forging. It will also further improve our already high product quality and delivery capacity,” says Christer Lenner, Gunnebo Industrier’s President and CEO. “This investment will increase the Business Area Lifting’s self-sufficiency in high-quality forging and will also benefit our other business areas. It is with great pleasure that we on Friday officially inaugurates this new forging machine,” continues Christer Lenner.
