Gunnebo Industrier is setting up a new company in Romania as one stage in the company’ s ongoing expansion into Eastern Europe.

In order to raise its profile in the south-eastern regions of Europe, Gunnebo Industrier is to set up a subsidiary in Ploeisti, just north of Bucharest, Romania. The business will be gradually expanded to include the products of Gunnebo Industrier’s various business areas and the company will serve as a strategic platform for expansion not only in Romania but also in other countries in the region. Gunnebo Industrier foresees exciting and robust market growth in this region in coming years. The new company - Gunnebo Industries S.R.L. - will initially take over and develop Business Area Fastening’s business in the region. “This new company in Romania is a further step in the canvassing of these important growth markets in Eastern Europe,” says Christer Lenner, Gunnebo Industrier’s President and CEO. “We have had highly effective sales and production activities in Poland for more than ten years now. This means we have the necessary experience, and we are now expanding our business towards Southeast Europe to facilitate the work up process of the market and to take advantage of the opportunities this rapid growth presents,” concludes Christer Lenner. “This new venture reflects our great confidence in the region. The new company will be canvassing a market with a population of more than 61 million people,” says Martin Jonsson, Head of Gunnebo Industrier’s Business Area Fastening.
