Gunnebo acquires the Clausen companies in Sweden and Norway

Gunnebo acquires the Clausen companies in Sweden and Norway Via its wholly owned subsidiary EA Rosengrens, the security group Gunnebo AB has today acquired all the shares in Garmann Clausen AB in Sweden and Jörg Clausen A/S in Norway. For the past few years Rosengrens has been active on the growing security market for cash handling, a market that is becoming progressively electronic and software based. Having previously been controlled by the central banks, cash handling is now more outsourced to private companies. Mainly representing De La Rue/Ascom, the Clausen companies have been established on the Norwegian and Swedish banking and financial markets since the 1940s with bank note and coin machines. De La Rue is a worldleading English group in cash handling systems. 40 employees and a turnover of MSEK 70 The Clausen companies currently have 40 employees and in 2000 had a turnover of some MSEK 70. Extensive development of software solutions for modifying the coin and bank note machines to the banks systems is being carried out in Norway and will also be developed for Rosengrens electronic night safes. The newly merged companies Rosengrens/Clausen in Norway and Sweden will achieve considerable economies of scale when working with banks, postal companies, security transport companies and the retail trade. The merged companies will have a leading market position for cash handling systems, both in Norway and Sweden. Solid service organisation The companies will also acquire a solid and national wide service organisation to the benefit of the customers cash- and security products. The joint range of products offered by Rosengrens and Clausen with related software for banks, the retail trade, security transport providers and counting centres provides the customers with comprehensive cash handling solutions from one single supplier.
