Gunnebo China signs prestigeous safe order with Hitachi

Gunnebo Security Group’s Chinese sales company has received an order of 500 ATM-safes from Hitachi. Order value amounts to some 0.5 MEUR.

“Gunnebo received this prestigious order very much thanks to our CEN-certification* on ATM-safes. The certification was a requirement from Hitachi which not many of our competitors in Asia has”, says Tomas Wängberg, SVP Secure Storage at Gunnebo. “Hitachi is a global company that puts high demands on their partners. The Key Account Management concept that Gunnebo started in 2010 is another very important factor that contributed to us securing this order.”

Hitachi is one of the world’s major producers of automated teller machines (ATM’s). In order to ensure that the cash is stored in a secure way before it is  withdrawn, each ATM needs a safe that can withstand all kinds of physical attacks.

”The market for self-service banking solutions, like ATM’s, is growing very rapidly in China at the moment. With long-term partnerships with the world’s largest ATM-producers in other parts of the world, Gunnebo sees great business potential in taking part of this substantial market growth going forward,” says Tomas Wängberg.

* CEN-Certification is the Certification of European Norms, meaning the many standards and institutes around Europe, conforming to one standard set of certification guidelines. This has now been well embraced in Europe, and is gathering acceptance globally.
