Gunnebo plans to cease production at factories in Toronto, Canada, and Ödeborg, Sweden

Gunnebo Security Group plans to close one factory in Toronto and another in Ödeborg within the framework of its expanded production-structuring programme.

Gunnebo Security Inc is market leader in Canada in high-graded security products and systems for the banking and other markets. Gunnebo Security also provides extensive service activities through its 14 branch offices in Canada. Electronic security systems for banks and retailers are growing in importance and automated cash handling is another growth area. With a view to improving the efficiency of its business, Gunnebo Physical Security is now planning to close its factory in Barrie, just outside Toronto. The output of this facility includes high-graded safes, vaults and vault doors, which will now be sourced from other factories in the division or from local manufacturers. The plant has a total of some 50 employees. Following the acquisition of Elkosta, a German security company, and Eurofence in France, Gunnebo Perimeter Protection has drawn up a structuring plan for the manufacturing of products within the outdoor perimeter security-area. Gunnebo Perimeter Protection today called for Co-Determination negotiations on its plans to cease production at the division’s factory in Ödeborg.
