Following a review of Gunnebo’s security business the Board has decided to redirect Gunnebo’s organisation in order to focus its security solutions to the Group’s key customers – banks, retailers and customers requiring high security site protection.

Gunnebo arranged a conference in Frankfurt on 29 and 30 August for 125 senior managers in order to present and discuss Gunnebo’s new organisation, which is expected to come into effect on 1 January 2006. Gunnebo’s key customers in Europe will be served by one or a few Gunnebo company per country. At present Gunnebo has some 60 companies in the 12 largest EU countries – or an average of five companies per country. There will be 17 country companies, to be known as “Customer Centres”, which will be co-ordinated within a North Region and a South Region. The activities in Asia will be managed with the “Region Indian Ocean Rim”, which will have seven sales companies. Six “Competence Centres” will be set up with responsibility for process and product development, manufacture, logistics and other product sourcing. “Gunnebo has experienced very strong growth over the past ten years, largely thanks to some 40 company acquisitions, says Gunnebo’s President and CEO Göran Gezelius. Organic growth has during the last couple of years not been so strong. The time has now come for the next stage; this will involve modifying Gunnebo’s organisation with the object of further improving customer benefit by being able to offer complete security solutions in each country to our key customers in banking and retailing, as well as those requiring high security site protection like airports, harbours, embassies, military installations, power plants and chemical industries. “Our companies in Asia are already operating in accordance with the new organisational structure and the changes in this region will only be marginal. “I will present further information in connection with the Q3 report on how this growth-initiative is developing as well as what savings we will achieve and the estimated cost of the restructuring process,” concludes Göran Gezelius.
