Gunnebo Wins Breakthrough Metro Gates Deal in India
Through a strategic partnership with SC Soft, the Gunnebo Group will supply ticket gates for a major Indian metro line to help them avoid revenue loss and improve efficiency.
The entrance gates will provide automated ticket validation and prevent fare dodgers. They will also be configured to accept the National Common Mobility Card which has been introduced in India as the standard for public transport payments.
Collaboration with Key Partner
Gunnebo is working together on this project with SC Soft. SC Soft has an offering which includes end-to-end solutions for mass transit networks and will be responsible for maintaining the ticket gates.
Among the reasons for choosing Gunnebo ticket gates was the level of reliability, low total cost of ownership over time, and having production located in India. This is in line with the government’s “Made in India” initiative to promote local manufacturing.
Raising the Bar for Quality
“This is a significant project for us in this segment,” says Gunnebo’s President & CEO, Henrik Lange. “By establishing ourselves as the provider of the best quality localised ticket gates in India, we hope to be setting the standard which other national metro networks will follow.”
Delivery of the first ticket gates is scheduled to begin at the end of 2017.
