Xella International S.à.r.l. has withdrawn its merger notification with the Commission – the merger notification submitted to the federal cartel office in Germany has not been withdrawn
H+H International has just learned that Xella International Holdings S.à.r.l. (Xella) has withdrawn its merger notification with the Commission about a merger with H+H International. H+H International does not know the reason for the withdrawal, since the company is not a party to the merger case because the merger notification was filed with the Commission unilaterally by Xella without acceptance from H+H International.
As informed in a prior company announcement, as far as Germany concerns the Commission decided to refer the decision on the merger notification to the Bundeskartellamt (the German federal cartel office). At H+H International’s inquiry, the Bundeskartellamt has just confirmed that the consideration of Xella’s merger notification concerning Germany is still ongoing, since for the time being Xella’s merger notification to the Bundeskartellamt has not been withdrawn.
Moreover, reference is made to company announcement no. 247 of today as well as other prior company announcements with information on Xella’s merger notification targeting H+H International.
