Hafslund (HNA) (HNB) expands its activities in the Nordic countries and starts co-operation with Dan el in Denmark
Dan el is a newly established Danish company owned by 8 utilities on Jylland and Fyn. Dan el shall purchase power on behalf of the utilities, which together has a turn-over of 4,3 TWh, a customer base of 375,000 and a market share of 24% on Jylland and Fyn. Hafslund and Dan el has signed a letter of intention where Hafslund will contribute with competence and systems within power trading and risk management. In addition to purchase management, Dan el will expand its activities within marketing to end-users and other related areas of co-operation. The agreement ensures that the utilities can take advantage of the coming de-regulation of the electricity sector in Denmark and enable them to offer their customers lower prices and increased service.
