Hafslund ASA (HNA) aquires 50% of EAB Nett

Hafslund ASA and Viken Energinett AS have jointly purchased the shares of Energiselskapet Asker og Bærum (EAB) Nett AS, with 50% of the shares each.. Total purchase price for the shares are NOK 1,250 million.

In addition, Hafslund ASA and Viken Energinett have signed a letter of intent regarding a merger of EAB Nett and Viken Energinett. After the merger Hafslunds ownerships shares will be minimum 25% of the shares of the merged company.

Hafslund ASA and Viken Energinett have signed a letter of intent with Statnett, Drammen Energinett AS and Buskerud Fylkeskraft AS regarding industrial co-operation on distribution in the region. The discussions between Ostfold Energi AS and Hafslund regarding a merger of their distribution business in Østfold will continue as planned. This gives a solid base for coordination and for other development of the national and regional grids in Eastern Norway.

A press conference will take place at Fondsfinans’ offices in Haakon VII gt. 2, 6 Floor at 1400 pm today.

The operating revenues for Energiselskapet Asker og Bærum (EAB) Nett in 1998 amounted to NOK 366 million, and operating profit was NOK 66 million.
