HNA - Sale of 49 % in Elverum Nett

Hafslund ASA (HNA) has entered into an agreement to sell its 49 % stake in Elverum Energiverk Nett AS . The buyer, Eidsiva Energi AS, will at the same time acquire 9000 retail customers in Elverum from Økokraft AS, a subsidiary where  Hafslund ASA owns 75 %.
The acquisition price is NOK 163 millioner and the effect on Hafslunds net income is approximately nil.
 
The acquisition will be effective from June 30. 2002, with payment due Oct.1 2002. The transaction is conditioned upon neccessary Board approvals.
 
Elverum is in the middle of the Eidsivas distribution area in the Hedmark-county. Hafslund will direct its focus to further development in the Oppland-region through its ownerships in Mjøskraft and Økokraft. Furthermore, the transaction is a natural step in the on-going work to de-invest non-core assets.
