HNA/HNB - CEO Christian Berg resigns from Hafslund

Chief Executive Officer Christian Berg has resigned from his position in Hafslund. Berg joined Hafslund in 1998 and has been a member of the group management since the fall of 2000, then as CFO. From September 2005 he served as deputy CEO and since October 2006 Berg has been CEO.

Berg has led the group through consolidation and growth within its core activities. Today the group has a clear strategy as an integrated Nordic utility listed on Oslo Stock Exchange.
 
Hafslund’s market position, financial strength and its ability to adapt to change, makes the company well positioned for further development in the energy industry.

Chairman of the board of directors Birger Magnus would like to thank Christian Berg for his extensive efforts and contribution to the Group's development and growth for 14 years.

- Christian Berg has been an inspirational leader and has also managed to establish a strong team that will work well without him. In recent time under the leadership of Christian Berg, Hafslund has strengthened its position as a leading player within renewable energy and energy-related infrastructure, says Birger Magnus.
 
- I appreciate having been involved in Hafslund’s development while I have been with the company. I have always been impressed and inspired by the efforts of the Group's employees, and the solid expertise they have in the various disciplines, says Christian Berg. - After 14 years in Hafslund, I have decided to seek new challenges, says Berg.
 
Berg will continue as CEO with full operational responsibility until 6 January 2012. As of 6 January, Deputy CEO Finn Bjorn Ruyter will be constituted as CEO. The Board will immediately begin the process of finding Berg's successor.
