Hafslund ASA has appointed Kari Ekelund Thørud (b. 1975) to the position of Senior Vice President of Markets, effective as of Wednesday 2nd September 2009. Thørud will join the Group Management of Hafslund ASA.

Kari Ekelund Thørud has been employed in Hafslund since September 2004, and comes from the position of Managing Director of Hafslund Strøm AS, where she has been responsible for the day to day management and development of Hafslund's electricity operations. Thørud has previously been financial director for the business area Heat and Infrastructure in Hafslund ASA, responsible for the financial follow-up of power production, networks, telecoms, systems control centre, property and Bio-El Fredrikstad. Prior to this Kari Ekelund Thørud was employed as advisor to the Senior Vice President of Markets in Hafslund ASA.

Thørud has previously held the position of Senior Executive Officer of Norges vassdrags- og energidirektorat (NVE) (Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate), responsible for analysis of energy market with relation to end-user efficiency.

Kari Ekelund Thørud holds an MBA specialising in International Company Management, and in May 2009 completed Financial Energy Analysis studies as NHH Executive at Norges Handelshøyskole (Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration).

As Senior Vice President of Markets, Thørud will be responsible for the companies Hafslund Strøm, NorgesEnergi, Hafslund Kundesenter, Hallingkraft, Fredrikstad EnergiSalg, Inforum and Hafslund Fakturaservice.

Thørud and parties closely related to her own 277 Class B Hafslund shares.

 

Jan Presttun (b. 1950) takes on the role of Senior Vice President of the business area Networks, effective as of Wednesday 2nd September 2009. He has been acting Senior Vice President for this business area up to 1st September 2009. Jan Presttun is in addition Senior Vice President of the business area District Heating.
