HNA/HNB - Hafslund acquires the power sales company Göta Energi AB

Hafslund has entered into an agreement to acquire 100 percent of the shares in the power sales company, Göta Energi AB. The Nordic region is moving towards a common powersales market. Hafslund's objective for the purchase is to be positioned and prepared for a future common Nordic market.

Göta Energi has over the last years delivered steady customer growth. - The company will be an important contributor to the positioning of Hafslund in the Nordic market, says Senior Vice President, Markets, Kari Ekelund Thørud.

Earlier this year Hafslund acquired 49 percent of Energibolaget i Sverige Holding AB (EBS). All together, EBS and Göta Energi have approximately 250,000 customers in Sweden and Finland. The acquisition price for the shares in the two companies is approximately 210 million NOK.

The acquisition of the shares is dependent of approval by the Swedish Competition Authority.
