HNA/HNB Rune Bjerke to leave as CEO of Hafslund ASA

Rune Bjerke is to leave Hafslund ASA as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to become Group chief executive of DnB NOR ASA.
 
Bjerke has been CEO of Hafslund ASA since August 2000, and has led the Group through an extensive consolidation and integration process. Today Hafslund is one of the leading power companies in the Nordic region with a significant ownership share in the listed solar energy company Renewable Energy Corporation ASA.
 
The Board Chairman Christian Brinch regret to inform that Rune Bjerke has decided to leave the position as CEO of Hafslund ASA, however would like to thank Bjerke for his extensive efforts during the period as CEO. The Group's market position, financial solidity and restructuring and integration competence makes the company well positioned for further development, says Board Chairman Christian Brinch.
 
Bjerke will continue in the position as CEO of Hafslund with full operating responsibility until the process of finding a new succession is clarified. Bjerke will take up the position as Group chief executive of DnB NOR ASA 1 January 2007.
