Haldex gets 1st order for the newly developed PreX(TM) system - a complement to Haldex AWD system Stockholm, Sweden (September 1, 2003) - Haldex Traction Systems, a division in the Haldex group, has been nominated by a car manufacturer to supply the PreX system - a complement to Haldex AWD system. PreX enhances further the traction and the vehicle dynamics characteristics of the AWD system. PreX is a newly developed system which broadens the product range of the Traction Systems division and complements the existing AWD system. PreX will be introduced on the market during the 2nd half of 2004. The first order has been received from a car manufacturer with a yearly value of some 6 MSEK for the coming 5-year period. The new PreX system is estimated to have an additional yearly potential of approximately 15 MSEK in the same time period. The new PreX system is integrated in the Haldex AWD system and utilizes existing components to pre-charge the AWD system for torque transfer in any situation - even at standing still - in order to obtain optimal traction performance. The fact that PreX can be integrated in the modular AWD system makes the added functionality of PreX very cost effective. The Haldex group (www.haldex.com), with headquarters in Stockholm, is a provider of proprietary and innovative solutions to the global vehicle industry, with emphasis on products related to vehicle dynamics, safety and environmental issues. Haldex is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and has annual sales of 6.5 billion SEK with 4,000 employees.
