Haldex Brake Systems is awarded Freightliner business Freightliner Corporation of Portland, OR has awarded Haldex Brake Systems the standard data book position for Long Stroke Brake Chamber technology, which includes spring brake actuators and service chambers. The long stroke products will become standard on the Century platform models as well as Sterling models. This business award is expected to add more then $5 million to Haldex Brake Systems' annual sales volume in North America. Chuck Kleinhagen, President of Haldex Brake Systems, in announcing the award indicated, "We are delighted that Freightliner has chosen Haldex actuators as standard for their vehicles. Gaining this business with a world leader in the transportation industry is a significant achievement and strengthens our own position as a leading global supplier of braking systems and components." The Haldex long-stroke double diaphragm spring brake utilizes a number of features in order to deliver the lowest cost-per-mile. The low profile design minimizes weight and provides exceptional impact resistance. Additional features include electro-deposited epoxy coated housing and power springs, Delrin center guide bearings, captive dust plugs, externally stored release bolts and easy-to-identify orange stroke indicator. And, the unique design of the diaphragm push plates increase fatigue resistance and life expectancy. The Freightliner Business Class will continue to use the standard stroke model.
