Haldex receives Letter of Intent regarding disc brakes from European truck manufacturer Brake Systems, a division in the Haldex group, has received a letter of intent regarding disc brakes from a European manufacturer of heavy trucks. The letter of intent includes cooperation in final testing and adaptation of Haldex disc brakes as well as future serial deliveries with an estimated start around 2005. The annual order value can be estimated to 100 MSEK. Haldex supplies since a couple of years disc brakes to several of Europe's leading trailer axle manufacturers. During 2001, deliveries doubled, partly due to the introduction of a new disc brake for 19.5 inch wheels. Deliveries of disc brakes for trailers have also in small volumes started in USA, China,Australia and Brazil. Testing and discussions with manufacturers of heavy trucks regarding Haldex disc brakes intensified during 2001 and has now resulted in a first letter of intent. Haldex is now introducing a new generation of disc brakes based on a modular concept. The product range has been enlarged to include disc brakes for both trailers and tractors and for both 19.5 and 22.5 inch wheels. The Haldex group (www.haldex.com), with headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, is an innovator in vehicle technology with emphasis on vehicle dynamics and supplies proprietary systems and products for trucks, cars and industrial vehicles on a global basis. Haldex is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and has annual sales of approximately $650 million with 4,150 employees.
