Nordic Financial Communication Summit 2018: Introducing The Nordics Largest Financial Communications Conference

On May 30th 2018, the communications agency Hallvarsson & Halvarsson organises the Nordics largest conference for financial communications – The Nordic Financial Communication Summit. The keynote speaker is Pippa Malmgren*, one of the world's most appreciated trendsetters. She is an author and the former financial adviser to George W. Bush. Other confirmed speakers include Ann Grevelius, Chairman of the board at Opti, Lauri Rosendahl, President of Nasdaq Nordics, Hans Lindberg, former State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of Sweden and Magnus Billing, CEO of Alecta. The conference will end with the prestigious Business Journalism Award ceremony that will be presented by Christer Gardell, founder of Cevian Capital.

Stakeholder communication, whether it's with journalists, analysts or investors, is becoming increasingly important. Hallvarsson & Halvarsson, Sweden's leading financial communications agency, is therefore organising The Nordics largest conference focusing on financial communications. The theme is "Trust - in an Age of Transparency”.

Among the topics that will be discussed by leading industry professionals during the conference are the rise of populism's impact on companies and markets, M&A and IPO trends and management teams’ strong focus on investor relations.

This year, Hallvarsson & Halvarsson gathers several events relating to financial communications in one single major conference - Nordic Financial Communication Summit 2018.  Keynote speaker  

The keynote speaker is Pippa Malmgren, author, trend spotter and financial advisor to some of the world's largest economies and companies. She has served as a financial advisor in the White House and on the National Economic Council for several years and will share her thoughts on the future and her personal experience of working with Brexit and other geopolitical issues.

Other confirmed speakers include Lauri Rosendahl, Ann Grevelius and Magnus Billing. More speakers will be announced shortly.

The conference will end with the prestigious Business Journalism Award ceremony that will be presented by none other than Christer Gardell, Cevian Capital. The award, that celebrates its 21st year, is given to honour achievement in the field of financial journalism in a number of categories and the ranking is as usual decided by the industry.

The 2018 Nordic Financial Communication Summit is held at Hotel AtSix and is primarily for people in finance, IR, communications, media, sustainability and public affairs. The majority of the seminar will be held in English.

*Bio, Dr. Pippa Malmgren

Dr. Pippa Malmgren is a trend spotter who advises investors and governments about economic policy and investment strategy. She anticipated the Financial Crisis in 2007, the slowdown in China, Brexit, Trump and the return of inflation. Pippa is also the author to the book Signals: How Everyday Signs Can Help Us Navigate the World’s Turbulent Economy where she describes how to predict and prepare for the next economic surprise by interpreting the signals in the economic landscape.  

Pippa was named one of the Top 20 Most Influential Economists by Richtopia. She has previously served as the special assistant to the president of the United States for economic policy on the National Economic Council, and is a former member of the U.S. President’s Working Group on Financial Markets. She was the Deputy Head of Strategy for UBS and the Chief Currency Strategist for Bankers Trust. She also ran Bankers Trust’s Asset Management business in Asia from Hong Kong

She is a Non-Executive Board Member of the new Department of International Trade in the UK, advising on Brexit. Pippa Malmgren started her career at OECD.

In addition to her books she has written on technology and economics and has been published in Wired Magazine, Monocle, The International Economy, Economia, Institutional Investor Die Handelsblatt, and The New Statesman among other publications.
