Change of location for Handelsbanken’s annual general meeting
As a precautionary measure to decrease any risk of infection of the new covid-19 coronavirus, Handelsbanken’s Board of Directors has made the decision to move the annual general meeting to the Victoria Hall at the Stockholmsmässan exhibition facility, Mässvägen 1, Älvsjö, Stockholm. The meeting will now take place at 10:00 a.m. CET on Wednesday, 25 March – the same date as previously arranged.
The aim is to ensure that the meeting is as short and concise as possible, in order to minimise the potential risk of contamination. The new premises will better allow attendees to enter quickly, and will facilitate a greater physical spread of visitors once inside. In addition, the change of premises will improve the conditions for mapping the spread of the infection, should the need arise, in the event that a carrier of covid-19 is shown to have attended the meeting.
The planned addresses to the meeting will be kept to a minimum, as a means of limiting the length of the meeting. External guests will not be permitted to attend the meeting, and participation by both Board members and the Bank’s Executive Management team will be minimised. No refreshments will now be served following the meeting.
By reducing the number of participants, increasing interpersonal distance, reducing the length of the meeting and decreasing interaction, the overall effect will be a substantially lower risk of any spread of the virus.
Any shareholders displaying symptoms of illness, who have recently travelled to a risk area, or who are considered to be part of a risk group, are requested to refrain from attending the meeting, and to instead vote via proxy.
