Gender Diversity Award to Handelsbanken Fonder
Handelsbanken Fonder’s female fund managers and team leaders account for approximately half of the more than SEK 800 billion managed on behalf of customers.
Handelsbanken Fonder has now been acknowledged at the international ‘Citywire Gender Diversity Awards 2021’: the company took home the award ‘Best AUM split’ in the 20 to 50 fund managers category.

Fund managers from all over the world took part in Citywire’s Gender Diversity Awards 2021 ceremony this week.
Handelsbanken Fonder received the award for best gender distribution on the basis of assets under management in the 20 to 50 fund managers category, following a selection process involving both data analysis and assessment by a jury.
Handelsbanken currently has eight female fund managers and team leaders, who together bear the responsibility for approximately half of the more than SEK 800 billion that the fund company manages on behalf of customers.
“Many of our largest funds are managed by experienced, hugely proficient women, such as Lisa Synning, Astrid Samuelsson, Cecilia Auvray and Caroline Mebius,” notes Magdalena Wahlqvist Alveskog.
Lisa Synning and Astrid Samuelsson were also top of Citywire’s rankings last year.
According to a survey commissioned by Citywire, only 11 per cent of fund managers in Europe are women.
“This type of accolade is important to us and shows we are on the right path. Our top female managers are influential role models to young women looking to enter the financial sector – as well as being key to our ability to attract the most competent individuals to earn our customers’ trust and manage their capital,” says Magdalena Wahlqvist Alveskog.
