Handelsbanken - Investigation into leak of interim report completed
Yesterday, information about Handelsbanken's interim report reached parts of the market ten minutes before the Bank had officially published the report.
Handelsbanken immediately notified the Stockholm stock exchange and started an investigation which was completed yesterday afternoon.
"This incident is extremely serious, but we now know exactly what happened and how it happened. We have also taken all the necessary action so that it will not recur," says Elisa Saarinen, head of corporate communications.
Handelsbanken will also give full information of the results of the investigation to the Stockholm stock exchange and of the measures which has been taken.
There were deficiencies in the procedure concerning how the report is published on the internet. This procedure has now been changed. Nobody with information about the report intentionally leaked the contents.
