Handelsbanken gets local currency license in China
Handelsbanken has strengthened its position as "the Nordic bank in China", by obtaining a limited local currency (RMB) license in China. The license was obtained from China Banking Regulatory Commission on October 25, 2005. Handelsbanken Shanghai Branch will now be able to offer foreign currency/RMB conversion services to customers in China.
"With this license, we will be able to provide even better services to our corporate clients in China", says Johan Andrén, Branch Manager, Handelsbanken Shanghai Branch.
Handelsbanken Shanghai Branch started operations on August 8, 2005 and offers a range of banking services to corporate clients in China.
