Svenska Handelsbanken: Issuance of hybrid capital completed
Last week, Handelsbanken announced its plans to issue a capital contribution security classified as tier one capital (hybrid capital). The transaction has now been completed and a total amount of EUR 500m was issued. The issue was heavily over-subscribed and has been placed with a number of large, well-reputed European institutions.
The Bank has also carried out a private placement of the same type of loan for the equivalent of approximately SEK 1 billion. These two issues increase the Bank's tier one capital ratio by almost 80 basis points relative to the capital situation as at 30 September.
