XACT - First in Europe with a fundamental ETF

XACT Fonder AB will tomorrow list a new exchange-traded index fund, XACT FTSE RAFI Fundamental Euro, on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

The new fund is the first in Europe to track Research Affiliates internationally recognized fundamental index, FTSE RAFI Eurozone Index. Unlike the capital weighting of a traditional index, the content of this index is based on the companies' fundamental key figures. In Europe Research Affiliates' fundamental index has historically shown an excess return of some 3 percent per annum over a 22-year period, compared with an equivalent capital-weighted index.

"This is an idea which has been tested against cap-weighted indexes in the 23 countries in the FTSE Developed World Index, adding value in all 23 with no exceptions. It has important practical and theoretical implications, being the most significant investment management concept I've ever seen." says Rob Arnott, Chairman of Research Affiliates and originator of Fundamental Indexing.

"We are very pleased to list the sixth XACT fund on the Stockholm Stock Exchange", says Dag Tjernsmo, CEO of XACT Fonder. "As the new exchange-traded fund is the first in Europe to be based on this fundamental index, we foresee great interest from Swedish as well as foreign investors."
