[Corvallis, Ore. and Lidköping, Sweden, October 12, 2017.] Handheld today announced the appointment of a new President and CEO for its North American subsidiary, Handheld US.

New Handheld US President and CEO Jim Rimay has served as Vice President of Sales for Handheld US since April 2015. He has decades of experience as an executive and sales manager in the rugged computing industry, including positions at Motion Computing, Getac North America, Walkabout Computers and DRS Tactical Systems.

“We are very excited to see Jim step into this new role with Handheld US,” says Jerker Hellström, CEO of Handheld Group. “He has been an excellent asset to our U.S. team as Vice President of Sales, and this appointment is a natural next step for all of us. We announced our interim president, Mike Zelman, just a few months ago, and we are happy to have found our next president and CEO so quickly within our existing team. Mike will resume his prior position handling custom development projects as Handheld Group’s Vice President of Business Development, as well as serving on the Handheld US board of directors.”

Handheld’s lineup of rugged tablets and handheld computers is specifically developed for field workers in industries such as geomatics, logistics, forestry, public transportation, utilities, construction, maintenance, mining, military and security.
