HANZA manufactures and donates field stoves to Ukraine
HANZA AB (publ) has joined Väderstad AB in a collaboration to manufacture field stoves that are donated to Ukraine to help combat the cold. Due to Russian attacks, many Ukrainian residents have been left with no electricity or gas. So far, 150 stoves have been built and sent to Ukraine, with more on the way.
- It is devastating to see the media reports on the suffering in Ukraine. Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something. We wanted to help provide a product that can be used over a long period of time, as it may be quite a while before the infrastructure is up and running again. Stoves that both generate heat and have hotplates are a much-needed contribution," says Veronica Svensson, Sales Director Scandinavia.
HANZA's customer Väderstad got in touch to discuss the idea to provide field stoves. The companies quickly agreed to make a joint effort. The stoves are now being sent to the most vulnerable areas where the need is greatest.
Väderstad provided the design and HANZA manufactures complete material kits which then go to Väderstad for welding, after which the stoves are transported to Ukraine where local aid organizations distribute the stoves.
- The quick start-up of deliveries is thanks to our many years of good cooperation. We know each other well and it was easy to start this project together," says Veronica Svensson.
