HARMAN extends the collaboration with Maserati thanks to the Harman Kardon premium audio system for the Quattroporte and Ghibli model lines; builds on existing support of superior audio experience for Maserati with Bowers & Wilkins

International Motor Show (IAA), Frankfurt, September 15, 2015 HARMAN International Industries, Incorporated (NYSE:HAR), the premier connected technologies company for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets, today announced the extension of its collaboration with Maserati by providing the Quattroporte and Ghibli model lines with the Harman Kardon® premium sound to deliver select Maserati vehicles with premium HARMAN-branded audio systems that blend with class-leading interiors. This builds on HARMAN’s existing collaboration with Maserati that provides Bowers & Wilkins premium in-car surround systems for the Quattroporte and Ghibli model lines.

The Harman Kardon premium sound system will offer Maserati drivers and passengers an enhanced listening experience through quality audio with a richness and depth that draws listeners into the music flowing from the vehicle speakers. Maserati‘s Italian craftsmanship and style creates a powerful architecture for enhanced audio listening and, when combined with Harman Kardon speakers, produces sonorous sound and perfectly balanced tones for the sophisticated music lover.

The Harman Kardon system for Maserati shares a history for excellence and technological innovation to match the prestigious reputation of the Maserati brand. The luxury of this exceptional sound system now comes as factory-standard with the Maserati Quattroporte and as an option with the Ghibli model of vehicles. With this upgrade for the latest model range, Maserati buyers are rewarded with a 10-speaker set-up and a potent 12-channel Class-D amplifier generating a total output of 900 watts. Maserati models equipped with Harman Kardon audio systems are fitted with four 25 mm tweeters – two in the front dashboard and two in the rear door – one 80 mm midrange speaker in the dashboard, four 165 mm woofers in front and rear doors and one 315 mm x 200 mm racetrack subwoofer to efficiently distribute premium sound quality through the vehicle. Uniquely tailored to match the interior of both cars, these systems are made to perform exquisitely and to seamlessly complement the sophisticated interior design.

IAA attendees will have the opportunity to experience Harman Kardon’s iconic audio quality at the Maserati booth, where Quattroporte Diesel and Ghibli S Q4 models fitted with the system will be showcased. Additionally, both the Quattroporte GTS Zegna and Ghibli S Q4 Zegna models will be onsite and equipped with Bowers & Wilkins premium in-car surround systems. A dedicated Harman Kardon Product Specialist will also provide onsite audio demos for attendees to experience the acoustic art firsthand and to learn more about the integrated Harman Kardon audio system that comes standard in Maserati Quattroporte and as an option for the Ghibli model line vehicles, as well as integrated options for Bowers & Wilkins.
