Still space for a select few students at Harper Adams

There's good news today for students still trying to find a land-based university place for this autumn, as Harper Adams University College reveals that it has bursaries available for high-achieving, low-household income students.

Five awards of £3,000 each are available for English-resident students with high levels of achievement in their entry qualifications,  who are accepted onto degree programmes starting next month at the Harper Adams, and who have a household income of under £25,000.

"We don't want anyone, particularly not academically gifted students, to be put off coming to university on financial grounds," said Harper Adams Academic Registrar Dr Abigail Hind. "There might be some students who have yet to choose a course, or even choose whether or not to pursue Higher Education, because of financial concerns.

"But there is a wide range of support available. At Harper Adams, we are pleased to be able to offer a £3,000 award to a further five students, in addition to the 45 already allocated, provided they have a household income under £25,000.

"We have already filled our student number quota, but new Government rules means we can accept as many high achieving students as we can accommodate, allowing us to offer this fantastic opportunity. I would encourage potential recipients of these awards to contact admissions now on 01952 815000."

Furthermore, demand to study the Extended Foundation Degree Programme (EFDP) at Harper Adams this year is so high that places are now being made available for students aged over 18.

So many students want to start the course, which provides a preparation year ahead of a subject-focussed Foundation or Honours degree, that a new tutor group is being created.  As a result of this, there are a small number of additional places still available.

The EFDP is ideal for students who want to study in higher education but choose not to go down the “usual route” of studying A-levels or National Diplomas.

Information about the EFDP can be found at www.harper-adams.ac.uk/undergraduate/efdp.cfm and anyone wishing to apply should also call the admissions team on 01952 815 000.
